Perfect Driver Goes International with Aaron Snapes' Wicked New Garage EP

The LA posse reached all the way to the Leeds, UK to source their latest release.

Perfect Driver are a crew fast on the come-up in Los Angeles. Names like Wood Holly, Ballast, and Thee Mike B rep the squad around town, but they've reached over the pond to the home of bassline to cull their latest release, Aaron Snapes' On It EP. It comes with two originals, both garage shufflers with bouncy basslines and loopy lead synths – The kind of tunes that make the perfect entry song to Night Bass, y'know, before things get really rowdy.

"On each of the tracks for On It I tried to focus on a unique bassline and build around that," says Snapes. "My music is very much bass driven. On this EP and overall, I spend a lot of time making sure the kick and bass sit well together. When I go into the studio, the whole experience is all about having fun, and I hope that translates into each song."

Treasure Fingers on the "On It" remix brings things into borderline future house territory with a stabby lead synth atop the shuffles, Jay Robinson gives the track a bossy re-work, and Eyes Everywhere beefs up the bassline to straight bootyshakin' levels.
