Meet the newest member of the TAR family, Cralias. The Lewisham producer, who describes himself as "South London's shyest beatmaker," will be releasing his debut EP, Element, on January 20 via the Los Angeles-based label, which is headed by Brainfeeder affiliate (and one-half of JP Moregun) PBDY.

The 26-year-old tells THUMP over email that the EP is a culmination of his many influences, which include the LA beat scene, Jersey club, baile funk, and more ambient downtempo sounds, in an effort to make "emotion-based" electronic music. Today, he's sharing one cut off the record, "Sweet"—a fitting title to a track that bounces and curls with its dreamy guitar riffs and shimmering wind chimes. It's the kind of song that soundtracks memories of good times, like watching the sunrise with your first crush after a late night out.

"Sweet" has a reflective aspect to it: "I made the song as an RnG [rhythm & grime] track which harked back to my early teens hearing sweetboy stuff like 'Wifey Riddim,'" Cralias says. "I always wanted to do a song with an MC so I made sure this particular track was MC-friendly, as sometimes I made beats that are a little unorthodox for bars."
