Following his recent set at the excellent The Level Party in Brooklyn alongside DJ Richard, Suzanne Kraft, and Via App comes the premiere of a new track from Abu Ashley called "Port Fuad." Desolate and hypnotic, it feels like the perfect antidote to grey days and freezing cold—lush waves of ambience envelop the minimal beat with a warm glow. The drums ricochet through darkness, and a looping vocal cut whispers along as the track wraps you up in its deep texture.

The Berlin-based artist and Parka Records co-founder told us he put together "Port Fuad" when "it was -13 Celsius, and you had to wear your North Face indoors." Equal parts introspective and bleak , the cut captures the mid-winter vibe to a T: "There was only about three hours of daylight, so it's natural I'd come up with something weird like this when you've been sitting in non-stop darkness," Ashley says. Close your eyes and let his signature vibe of "habibi house" wash over you.
