Daniele Antezza Inaugurates New Label Holotone with Sculpted, Hypnotic EP

Deep ambient techno atmospherics from the Berlin experimental producer
Daniele Antezza

Daniele Antezza has been kicking up some dust for a while. The Italian producer moved to Berlin back in 2009, and has been putting out some deep and atmospheric techno deconstructions as Dadub, along with co-producer Giovanni Conti. As Inner8, Antezza created a solo outlet for his own dark ambient productions. On March 21, Antezza returns to his Inner8 alias to launch his new label Holotone, an imprint which, as the artist told THUMP via email, will "use an unmediated language (art) to express the complexity of our hyper-mediated world."

The inaugural release for the label, Tetramorph, is a hazy and dubbed-out four track EP of magnetic textures and heavy, churning beats. Antezza takes a heady approach to his productions, melding his interests in philosophy and physics with his deep sound design. Inner8's productions transcend the sonic content from which they are sculpted, creating a truly hypnotic and disorienting listening experience. The opening cut "Self Determination," premiering today on THUMP, conjures the ambience of a Middle Eastern market and effortlessly melds the sounds to subtly expanding and contracting waves of percussion. Check out the track below, and look for the release to drop on vinyl and digital formats from Holotone on March 21.
