Italian DJ and producer Domenico Crisci is graduating to label boss status with the launch of his own imprint, Summa Cum Laude.

The Caserta native debuted in 2014 on Russian Torrent Versions, and has since released EPs for L.I.E.S, Eerie Records, and most recently, Silent Servant's Jealous God imprint. When it comes to his music, Crisci specializes in one strain of techno: the relentless, peak-time kind that bugs your eyes, scrambles your brain cells, and makes your sides ache while attempting to keep up with the pace.

Crisci is launching Summa Cum Laude with his own The Violinist EP, which sees him wage war on the dance floor with three tracks of take-no-prisoners techno. Today, THUMP is premiering the title track, which pounds and grates its way into a riotous storm of a finale, accompanied by what sounds like the distorted, feverish flourishes of a mad violinist.

Crisci tells THUMP of the track's creation, "Paganini's notes suddenly floated into my place. An old, elegant man was playing outside down the street, with his violin. Passion was propagated by this sound all around. 'The Violinist' ran over me. This feeling pushed me to start a more personal series, a surface where I can mirror myself in every detail and push forward as much as I feel, without agreements: Summa Cum Laude. Brand new creatives will join this idea."

Listen to "The Violinist" below ahead of Domenico Crisci's The Violinist EP release on October 21 via Summa Cum Laude.
