Emerging Producer Ahadadream Brings the UK Funky Grooves on This Exclusive Remix

This sounds absolutely nothing like a freezing cold January afternoon...it's brilliant.

Despite UK Funky seeming on the wane since its heyday during the late noughties, one man is on a personal mission to bring it back into the limelight. Not only does Ahadadream (Ahad Elley) play UK Funky every month on his Radar Radio residency, but he also produces the stuff. We're always super keen to hear new UK Funky, and we'd seen him smash it at Betty Bensimon's Bonus Stage party back in October, so we were psyched when Ahad hit us up with his remix of Lorenzo_BITW and Mina's "Tombura". "Can we premier it, mate?" we asked. "Yes, sure thing," he said. So that's what we've done.

His refix of "Tombura", which you can hear below, is a key heavy cut, which has already got us looking forward to long, lazy afternoons in the local leisure centre. Because that's what summer is all about, isn't it: eating Cornettos on the grassy verges you always find outside municipal swimming pools. We hope it makes you feel the same. The "Tombura" remix will appear on the upcoming Friends of Friends compilation. Release date TBC.
