Ryan Hemsworth's Secret Songs isn't your ordinary label. To be fair, according to the artist, it's not really a label at all, but more a SoundCloud-based portal in which the Canadian producer and DJ shares a free download every two weeks from talented friends on the come up. Cutting out some of the formal tangles that often go hand in hand with the conventional label biz, his new venture gets right down to what's most important: the music.
The latest bag of beats to come out of Secret Songs finds Hemsworth in co-pilot mode alongside Lucas, a Seattle producer who has remixed Ryan's work in the past, in addition to releasing some originals on the label back in 2014. While a couple of the singles from the guys' collaborative, EP, Taking Flight, have already been dropped online, you can now stream the colorful, catchy-as-hell thing in full. TGIF.
