Hear NYC Staple Eli Escobar's Shimmering Dub Rework of Fiorious' Heartbreaking New Single

Described as "A big gay dance record tinged with sadness"—"No Immunity" receives a proper workout by one of the city's best.

Known for his central role in the popular party series Tiki Disco, as well as for running his own label, Night People, NYC's Eli Escobar has long been an artist we love. Today's no different as we're sharing Eli's shimmering dub rework of the new single "No Immunity" by Bronx-born Italian-American artist Fiorious, who's an exciting fresh face. We couldn't think of a more fitting introduction to his soulful, inspired vocals than this remix of what Fiorious himself describes in the press release as "a big gay dance record tinged with sadness."

Speaking to THUMP via email, Escobar gave some background for his remix, offering: "I love sad dance songs. The contrast between the tortured vocals and the hard beat works for me." Furthermore, he explained, "It doesn't really sound like anything else I've ever made, but that's why I like it." Fiorious also gave his two cents: "I'm a huge fan of Eli's records and parties in NYC, not to mention his Up All Night album which I think is one of the best start-to-finish house albums of the last few years," he said. "I just knew Eli would bring it to a hypnotic, sweaty place with this remix." Stream the track below, and be sure to pick up the No Immunity EP when it's out January 29 and follow both Escobar and Fiorious on Twitter. Have another listen to the former's THUMP mix here.
