Junior Sanchez and Jesse Rose Team Up for a Deep House R&B Tribute

"Touch U" is a dispatch that feels like the genre's peak era.

Given the sudden return of "My Boo" to the pop charts, it's mighty fortuitous that the first release of 2016 for house heavyweights Junior Sanchez and Jesse Rose pays lyrical homage to INOJ's 1999 single "Love You Down." Never mind that INOJ didn't actually sing on "My Boo," (that was Virgo on the vox), Google auto-complete deems it so, which almost a refreshing error in this age when Shazam takes all the fun out of trainspotting the best club jams.

And a jam this joint "Touch U" certainly is. Recorded under the alias IMIURU with singer Roland Clark, Sanchez revisits the peak era of 90s deep house, when silky smooth bass lines and snappy house rhythms formed the foundation for sexy hip-swaying songs delivered with emotional heft as well as dance floor punch (for further reference, see the entire Guidance Records catalog). Rose's remix and dub versions strip things back for more late night groove, but poe-faced is the DJ who would discard the jubilant original. Listen here.
