Legowelt's New Charity Track Channels Profound Rapture

"At Delphi" is part of a forthcoming compilation on Craigie Knowes, with all profits going to War Child UK.

Renowned Dutch eccentric Legowelt shared "At Delphi" today, a turbulent new track off a forthcoming compilation from Glasgow imprint Craigie Knowes. The track is named after an ancient Greek sanctuary known for hosting the oracle at Delphi, who spoke for the gods and advised everyone from the ruling class to average citizens. Legowelt seems to channel some of the mythological ethos the title implies by creating a sense of hectic rapture, where the synths swirl in winding figures evocative of the euphoric natural gas experts say influenced the oracle.

All the profits made from sales of the compilation will got to War Child UK, a non-governmental organization focused on supporting children whose livelihoods are threatened by armed conflict. Among the other artists contributing work to the release are Bristolian producer Shanti Celeste, London-based fraternal duo Chaos In The CBD, Tokyo's Yoshinori Hayashi, and more.

Earlier this year, Legowelt kicked off our THUMP Mix series with a session recorded in his living room at home on the North Sea coast.

The compilation will be out on 2LP and digital formats December 5, and it is available for pre-order.
