Magda's Remix of Popof's "Lidl Girl" Is a Minimal Robotic Jam

Keep the after-hours inertia going strong past noon.

French producer Popof is issuing the third set of remixes from his 2015 album, Love Somebody, on Hot Creations. As with the two previous singles, "Words Gone" and "Going Back," fellow Parisian singer Arno Joey is heavily involved on "Lidi Girl," his vocal hook anchoring all four remixes by Kerri Chandler, Magda, Carl Cox, and Shaun Reeves & Tuccilo.

The full package drops tomorrow (Friday, June 3), but we have Magda's remix today, a stripped down stormer that coyly loops skeletal elements of the original around spacey squawks until a warm and worming acid line finally breaks out from the hypnotic groove. It's the sort of effective umpteeth-hour-at-the-afterparty tool that keeps feet shuffling once what was morning transitions into early afternoon.
