Milo McBride's "Antika (Original Mix)," the slightly twitchy title track from the New York producer's upcoming Antika EP, is the kind of house that sneaks up on you. Its buzzing, low frequencies, urgent high hats, echoing handclaps, and distorted vocals swirl seductively. As it mesmerizingly rocks back and forth, it becomes clear that the effect is something like hypnosis—and before you know it you're pulsing your body without even realizing it, slowly creeping toward a debaucherous dance floor. And it's just the first track of a deceptively slim EP loaded with similarly seductive originals."Antika is a collection of some my favorite club tracks I've made over the past years," said McBride in an email to THUMP. "Melded together with the same energetic yet eroded vibe—each song serves a different function in the course of a dynamic set."

In addition to sharing "Antika" in advance of the EP's March 14 release, McBride has also created a one-hour, genre-jumping "Antika Mix," available for download on the THUMP Soundcloud. Beginning with dreamy, twinkling instrumentals, the mix transitions through jubilant disco, primal house, and a multitude of other sounds in between. McBride has clearly spent the years since his 2014 Ruinz EP release getting a feel for a crowd, honing the ability to subtly build momentum, from an enchanting opening to cushioned come-down.
