Los Angeles-based artist and bandleader of electronic rock veterans Mindless Self Indulgence, Jimmy Urine, has remixed Australian/Iranian duo VOWWS' single "Holy Youth" off their 2015 debut LP. The Great Sun featured appearances from synth pop pioneer Gary Numan as well as Swans' percussionist Thor Harris. Incorporating an arsenal of seething dayglo synths, Jimmy Urine aka James Euringer, adds some pep to the drudging, morose original by replacing its sense of burden with a more unhinged kind of levity.

Speaking to THUMP about the track via email, Euringer said: "I knew I had to do something wicked good for this remix because I really dug the music and the band bled for it," he said. "I did something a little more melodic and goth club/dance as opposed to freaky experimental so they could reach more people and help spread the word about VOWWS." The duo also offered their take, collectively explaining: "We're long time Mindless Self Indulgence fans and knew that Jimmy Urine would be able to deconstruct, reconstruct and totally repurpose the track in a fun way."
