Noah Slee's "Can't Let Go" Goes Back to the Future with a Ben Esser Rework

The Berlin-based producer ignites the Kiwi's breakthrough track with a hefty serving of horns.

"Can't Let Go," the breakthrough cut from Kiwi singer-producer Noah Slee, has just received a lush rework from up and coming producer Ben Esser. The slow-burn throughout the first portion of this track, that later builds into this amalgamation of thirsty percussion hits, intense R&B vibes, and a gorgeous wash of warmth, replete with a euphoric horn section.

The track is the perfect expression of yesterday's pain and the sounds of tomorrow, Slee depicting the story of a much-travelled man and natural born music maker, constantly looking for that bittersweet spot where sounds collide and collapse to reveal pure beauty.

Slee's gift is his voice, finding hope in blank despair, he captures elements of lurking anguish in moments of sheer joy. He knows that—in life, love and music—you'll find a myriad of colors between black and white if you look closely enough.

Slee feels this remix is, "a contrast to the theme of the song and the original which I really like. it makes you wanna bounce and move along to it. Real stoked to work with up and coming producer Ben Esser and love when people take a song and make it their own."

Rather than riding the waves of retro, he has an urge to explore uncharted territory. Slee has spent some time in Brisbane, working with local beat champs such as Yahtzel and LDRU, but has found a new home amidst the thriving post-everything scene of Berlin.

Via SoundCloud he managed to connect with Kreuzberg production team Kitschkrieg and they quickly bonded over a shared love for timeless songwriting and future-minded beats. Ever since, they've been working on Slee's debut LP release, which is set to drop later this year.
