One of America's seminal electronic music labels, New York's Nervous Records, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. As part of the label's newest release, Hessle Audio co-head Pearson Sound has put his touch on Francois K's "Atmospheric Mood" remix of Kim English's 1997 single "Learn 2 Luv."

Pearson Sound said of the project on Facebook: "I was asked by Nervous Records to pick a track from their back catalogue to remix, for their 25 year anniversary celebrations. Initially it was a daunting task considering how many iconic tracks they've released over the years. After a few days digging, I remembered this ambient interlude mix that Francois K did of Kim English back in 1997, and I always loved the chords that come in towards the end. It's the first time I have done a remix of a remix, hope you enjoy!"

For his take, Pearson Sound strips the source material of most of its soulful vocals, instead pushing snippets of them to the background in favor of blistering bass and percussion, though at the halfway point comes a blissed-out atmospheric section that was fittingly summarized by SoundCloud user corticyte: "reach for the lasers." On the track's last leg, you can hear Francois K's influence with a sweeping of searing, higher-state-inducing synths. Listen to it below ahead of its release tomorrow on Nervous Records.
