RL Grime’s 2016 Halloween Mix with Pharrell Is Lit Like a Jack O’ Lantern

It's the most wonderful time of the year—and no, that doesn't mean Christmas, despite what the fake fir trees already lining store windows might tell you. This Monday is Halloween, and best believe that parties in celebration of the holiday will be more aplenty than the potentially problematic and cliché costumes stumbling through them.

Ahead of the party weekend, LA bass don RL Grime just dropped his fifth annual Halloween mix, delivering over an hour's worth of tricks and treats, and then some, getting the venerable Skateboard P a.k.a. Pharrell to handle the introduction: "You know what this guy does, you know who he is; you know he's an absolute goblin," he says amid a fog of hazy synths. "I don't know what else to say except this guy's bestial."

Starting the mix proper with the Stranger Things theme, RL Grime quickly shifts into turn-up territory with tracks from Young M.A., new Pelican Fly signee Vera, Baauer, Boys Noize, and Desiigner; plus RL's new collaboration with What So Not and Skrillex, and of course, a drop from his namesake inspiration, Goosebumps author RL Stine. In all, it's a blend of rap and bass music that's fittingly dark and potent for a night (or four) of mischief. Listen to it below.
