Skylar Spence Goes ON DECK With 30 Minutes of Whatever It Takes

His name has changed, the music hasn't.

ON DECK: Skylar Spence by Thump on Mixcloud

He was born Ryan DeRobertis. He came to prominence in the vaporwave scene under the name Saint Pepsi. And just last year, after a run in with the copyright lovin' powers that be, he became known to the world as Skylar Spence, a moniker owing its roots to a character from Woody Allen's 1996 musical Everyone Says I Love You.

Is Vaporwave the Next Seapunk? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Whatever the name, DeRobertis' bubbly brand of slick tuneage hasn't changed, and his debut album, Prom King (released September 18 on Carpark) promises to be the culmination of his path towards stardom. To help hold us all over until he drops his first LP under his new guise, Spence has readied us an ON DECK that's glistening in the summer sun, as well as containing enough good vibes to satisfy Stevie Wonder.
