Up-and-coming Atlanta producer, Stefan Ringer, has shared "to the bone," the jacking and earwormy b-side to his forthcoming "bossa grv" 12" on connoisseur Chicago imprint Argot. In a podcast interview with Argot founder Steve Mizek, Ringer talks about how the track went through multiple, significantly varying drafts, and although the final product is cohesively rounded, you can viscerally feel how much he's bursting with ideas as a producer. With the single's terrific A-side, too, it feels like five minutes almost wasn't enough—he clearly could have kept the dexterous variation and reinvention going for a while longer, and we definitely wouldn't have minded.

"'to the bone' happened to be an old track that I went into again and just started to mess with it, add different parts to it, took parts away," he explained to THUMP via email. "That's how that one got made. 'bossa grv' actually happened when I was listening to Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto, old ass little dusty ass record. Listening to that, I just thought, 'Ok, that's kinda sexy!' I just sampled that, put it into the MP, and chopped that up and just made the track like that and put a beat behind it. "

The record will be available for purchase on May 20 from Argot's webstore.
