Close Your Eyes and Get Lost In the Sweet Harmony of Tensnake's New Track

"Desire" was influenced by a trip to Malaysia and the mesmerizing chanting of the local muezzin.

Ever since he got the summery "

Coma Cat" cemented in our brains forever in 2010, Marco Niemerski, AKA Tensnake, has continued to specialize in producing house tracks that you'll hum, sing in the shower, and even to your cat, over and over again. His latest EP Desire (out April 22)—reportedly inspired by a trip to Malaysia—is certainly no exception to the rule, and kicks off with a blissful deep house number of the same name.

"When I recorded the idea for the the track, I was traveling in Malaysia," Niemerski tells THUMP over email. "My hotel was pretty close to a minaret and hearing the muezzin reminded me of some old repetitive mesmerizing chants. This experience and location influenced this track and the whole EP—I like to travel to places with my music."

While the tune lacks any literal prayer connotations, the hypnotic, cyclical vocal and dreamy bassline still warrants worship to any dancefloor, pair of headphones, or inevitable summer rooftop. Click play below, and enjoy your salvation!
