Originally a collaboration between the London production duo of Etienne Tron and Johan Karlberg (AKA Radioclit), and Malawi vocalist Esau Mwamwaya, The Very Best have come to be known as a true global force—boasting an eclectic dance-pop sound that's extensive, wildly unique, and a whole lot of fun.Since the departure of French producer Etienne Tron, the group now consists of Esau and Swedish producer Johan Hugo. After a three year hiatus, the Afro-Euro duo dropped their latest album Make a King in April, filmed in Mwamwaya's hometown of Malawi and widely praised as the group's most ambitious work to date.Their latest single "Sweka" is slated for a November 6 release as part of Moshi Moshi's limited 12" remix series (only 300 pressings!), featuring remixes from Prins Thomas and London XOYO resident Joshua James, whose richly-textured remix is streaming below.
