Total Freedom's Massive New Edit Blends Linkin Park, Baile Funk, and Kelela

Back on December 23, Fade to Mind-affiliate Total Freedom, aka Ashland Mines, tweeted, "I'm being so stupid with these kelela stems rn." We were immediately intrigued, crossing our fingers that whatever Mines was complaining about would materialize into something we could actually hear. TF's ability to flip tracks well outside the bounds of rhyme or reason is nothing short of thrilling, and when a follow-up tweet suggested that Linkin Park would be involved, we only got more excited.

The resulting track, titled "DOWN ACTIONS, LOW KEY CHILDISH THOUGH TF," then showed up on Christmas, with appropriately themed artwork (viewable below). It sews together the iconic piano figure from Linkin Park's "In The End" and the vocals for Kelela's "All The Way Down" (off her Hallucinogen EP) with some swinging baile funk beats, and it's just as massive as we'd hoped. Stream it below, and be sure to follow it up with Mines' mix for Rinse from back in March, which made it all the way to number five on our list of the year's best mixes.
