The New Sins' "Lights Down" Is Catchy As Fuck

Don't bother fighting this catchy ditty from a New Young Pony Club alum.

"Lights Down" is a dangerously catchy song—it's the kind of electropop ditty that even those few remaining friends you have who still think dance music isn't "real music" (because it doesn't have guitars or something) will still find themselves dancing uncontrollably to. The track continues the pop genius legacy of The New Sins—a duo comprised of producer Nick Phillips and his longtime collaborator Lou Hayter, the ex-keyboardist of New Young Pony Club. (Hayter has another electronic side project with JB Dunckel of Air, under the name Tomorrow's World.)

Put together by the band's friends Nova Dando, the video for "Lights Down" is a mishmash of emojis, flashing neon lights, people dancing their asses off, smiley faces and lasers—basically a Mary Poppins bag of every visual trick you've ever known and loved.

The New Sins' Lights Down EP is now out on Eye Level Records. Grab it here.
