YELLE’s New “Ici & Maintenant (Here & Now)” Video is About Seizing the Moment

It co-stars comedian Nathan Barnatt.

French electro-pop duo YELLE today shared a new song, "Ici & Maintenant (Here & Now)," and an accompanying music video that will inspire others to seize the day in the New Year.

The video features one-half of YELLE, Julie Budet, as a suburban resident who seems to live a fairly monotonous life: wake up, drink coffee, get ready, exercise, do chores, and so on. Starring alongside her is comedian Nathan Barnatt (who previously appeared in the 2012 music video for the Freaks remix of Yelle's "Comme Un Enfant"), who shadows her every move with the added frenzy of a glitched-out Sims character. Come the song's chorus, however, they come together for a gracefully synchronized routine in the middle of the street. Watch it above.

"After three albums and crazy intense touring over the world, we felt we needed to pause…to be connected to the present," YELLE told The FADER. "Here and Now. That's exactly the idea behind the song. that's our state of mind. Being simply and fully in the moment."
