Jackmaster, Scuba en andere dj's spreken zich uit over seksisme in de muziekindustrie

In een reeks tweets brandde Jackmaster los over de vertegenwoordiging van en vooroordelen over vrouwen in de muziekindustrie. Dat deed hij nadat hij een gesprek hoorde dat "fucking onacceptabel" was.

Al wil hij niet uitweiden over wat er precies in het gesprek werd gezegd ("Dit is geen heksenjacht"), verontschuldigt hij zich wel dat hij te lang over dit onderwerp heeft gezwegen: "Het is veel te makkelijk om je als mannelijke dj in een bevoorrechte positie onwetend op te stellen. Hier gaat het compleet fout."

Hij tweette ook naar The Black Madonna, die zich al eerder uitsprak over vooroordelen over vrouwelijke muziekproducers. In dit interview uit 2015 met Thump zegt ze: "…het is belangrijk om te focussen op problemen die vrouwen tegen het lijf lopen, zelfs in de dancecultuur, en de sekse-ongelijkheid in deze omgeving te herkennen."
