Moogfest Announces Dial-Tones Series

The synthesizer maker's festival will now have a traveling component.

Moogfest, the annual music festival held in Durham, North Carolina, home of the moog synthesiser, have announced a new series of events. Dial-Tones, a partnership with the Ace Hotel, will celebrate "the form and frequencies surrounding the art of synthesis, circuitry, drone, and microtonal compositions." Each event will include a workshop element, with participants invited to assemble a Moog Werkstatt-01 Synthesizer, as well as a performance from a curated artist followed by an after-party. Participating artists include Nick Sanborn, the synth half of pop duo Sylvan Esso, who'll curate the first event on December 5 in Durham, North Carolina, as well as West Coast producer, Nosaj Thing (Los Angeles Ace Hotel on December 20th) with guest artists Shlohmo and D Tiberio. The series will then go to the UK for an event at the London Ace with Jas Shaw of Simian Mobile Disco..
