Brooklyn Label Razor-N-Tape Unearths an Uplifting Disco Classic from Al Kent on Latest Edit Release

The vocal anthem "Come Back Home" off the Scottish producer/DJ's celebrated 2009 album finally gets a proper vinyl release.

Released on CD in 2009 by London label BBE, Al Kent's

was a hit in the disco world, but sadly, and much to the chagrin of collectors and disco-slinging vinyl DJs, the album never got pressed to vinyl. That's all changing today as Brooklyn label Razor-N-Tape has scored the album's most sought-after tune—the uplifting vocal anthem "Come Back Home (Original Disco Version)"—as one of three tracks on their forthcoming vinyl edit release from the Scottish producer/DJ, simply titled Al Kent Edits.

According to JKriv, who runs R-N-T alongside Aaron Dae, the release marks not only a momentous occasion for the edit-friendly label, but for disco lovers far and wide: "We had already been talking with Al [Kent] about putting a release together a couple years ago, when I scored what I thought was the vinyl release of "Come Back Home" and posted a video, tagging Al. Much to my chagrin he told me that the 12" I had was actually a bootleg!" he told THUMP. JKriv continued: [This version] had never been released on vinyl, which is crazy, because that was a BIG new disco record that helped kick off the current resurgence of disco. But amazingly, the track was available for us to release on wax, for the first time ever."

"Come Back Home (Original Disco Version)" appears alongside two other never-before-released edits from Kent, "Good Inside" and "4006." Check it out below.
